
A Grade I, G.F. Bodley designed church and adjoining cloister that forms part of St Stephen's House, a Permanent Private Hall of the University.
Recently updated as a concert venue, SJE has underfloor heating and new lighting, comfortable chairs, a new toilet block, staging, and a Steinway D concert grand piano. The acoustic is superb.
SJE is on the Iffley Road opposite the University Sports Ground. Buses from Oxford city centre stop directly outside. Buses from London stop five minutes' walk away in St Clement's.

An imaginative and electrifying performer, Zee Zee stands out among the young generation of pianists, her creative maturity described by the Los Angeles Times as ‘a powerful, passionate and compelling representation of pure artistry’.
Trained in her native China and the United States, Zee Zee has given recitals at venues such as Lincoln Center New York, Kennedy Center Washington D.C. and Wigmore Hall, London and performed with leading orchestras. During her time as a BBC New Generation Artists' scheme, she joined BBC Ulster Orchestra at the BBC Proms, Royal Albert Hall, and the 2016-17 season saw her as Artist in Residence with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.
