The Recruiting Officer

The Recruiting Officer

The Recruiting Officer by George Farquhar

A dashing officer comes to town, intent on recruiting men for his regiment and women for his bedchamber. Both prove harder to seduce than he imagines, and we are drawn into the jealousies and intrigues of a seemingly innocent market town.

This much loved 18th century comedy has sharply drawn characters, witty dialogue and fast paced action. Throw in a glorious setting on the bank of the Cherwell and some lavish costumes, and you have all the ingredients of a perfect summer’s evening of entertainment, provided by a talented cast from MCS Drama.
