A rare opportunity to hear the world-famous King’s Singers in Oxford, as they join forces with Radley College and singers from across Oxfordshire for two unique concerts.
The 5pm Afternoon Concert includes the world premiere of Shadow-Makers by Cecilia MacDowall. There will also be a new arrangement of the African song Kelele, written by Toby Young for today’s concerts, as well as many of the King’s Singers classic arrangements performed by the group on their own and alongside singers from Radley College, Headington School, John Mason School, Desborough College, Radley Primary, St Andrew’s Primary, Dunmore Primary, Caldecott Primary and Sunningwell Primary.
In the 7:30pm Gala Concert, The King’s Singers present a host of their most popular arrangements, and highlights from the afternoon concert. The performance will also include music written by Bob Chilcott for The King’s Singers’ 50th Anniversary, performed by the King’s Singers alongside performers from Oxfordshire schools and the Radley Choral Society.
The concerts are in aid of the Kamran’s Ward (Children’s Haematology and Oncology) at the John Radcliffe Hospital, who are currently providing amazing support to one of the Radley choristers who is undergoing treatment. There will be a retiring collection.
