The Kings' Gifts

The Kings' Gifts

Set amidst the splendour of Keble College Chapel, Jubilate Chamber Choir’s Christmas programme explores the theme of ‘The Kings’ Gifts’. A contemporary take is provided by Richard Allain’s affecting piece The Magi’s Gifts, Jonathan Dove’s impressive setting The Three Kings, and John Rutter’s much-loved Carol of the Magi, with its hauntingly beautiful line for solo cello. In impressive contrast there are early sacred pieces from Weelkes, Victoria, and Tallis, alongside festive favourites such as Boris Ord’s Adam lay y-bounden, Herbert Howells’s Sing Lullaby, and Peter Warlock’s Bethlehem Down. The perfect way to celebrate the Christmas season.
