Oxford Pride Symposium

Oxford Pride Symposium

Looking Back, Being Present, Reaching Forward.

The Oxford Pride Symposium is a multi agency performance and debate event taking place on the 23rd May 2019.

The theme this year is inspired by 2019 being 50 years since the Stonewall Riots and how they began the movement for LGBTQIA+ acceptance and rights.

Artists such as the amazing Ashanti will be giving performances of spoken word and more.

We will hear personal stories from those amongst our vibrant often unheard diverse community on disability, discrimination, activism and mental health.

There will be 2 panels on the night, an intergenerational panel containing students, councillors, teachers, lecturers from across Oxfordshires wide range of educational establishments.

To close we will have a Queer Panel debating how we can move forward into a new era, chaired by Zayna Ratty and joined by Valentino Vecchietti, Tom Hayes and Charlotte Stacey amongst other esteemed guests.

Duration: 4 hours
