A Grade I, G.F. Bodley designed church and adjoining cloister that forms part of St Stephen's House, a Permanent Private Hall of the University.
Recently updated as a concert venue, SJE has underfloor heating and new lighting, comfortable chairs, a new toilet block, staging, and a Steinway D concert grand piano. The acoustic is superb.
SJE is on the Iffley Road opposite the University Sports Ground. Buses from Oxford city centre stop directly outside. Buses from London stop five minutes' walk away in St Clement's.

In honour of the 250th Anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, old friend of the Festival, Katya Apekisheva, will give a recital of his piano sonatas, an oeuvre perhaps even more personal and monumental than even his string quartets or symphonies. Come along, even at this early hour, and see if you agree.
