Music from Russia, Finland and Czechoslovakia. While the Shostakovich and the Dvorak are familiar – although not played before at the Festival – the Sallinen is likely to be new to most. This piece marks the first appearance of our star guest at this year’s Festival – James Crabb, one of the world’s leading accordion virtuosos.
