Sat 13 Jun, Waterperry Gardens
Folk Music in the Amphitheatre at Waterperry Gardens
Moonrakers is a group of four musicians who pride themselves in having brought traditional and contemporary folk music to new audiences in village halls, churches, arts centres and festivals across the south of England.
Featuring Celtic harp, cello, stringed instruments and male/female vocals, the show is informal and suitable for all ages. The fact that the band "just OOZES quality" (Living Tradition) is down to the careful arrangements and selection of tunes and songs, presenting “exquisite music” (BBC).
Much of their material is from the UK and Irish folk traditions, reflecting a love of traditional tunes and songs. They also perform their own songs and tunes, still very much 'in the idiom'.
