Monteverdi Vespers

Monteverdi Vespers

Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610 is the most ambitious work before Bach, written while he was hoping for the top job at St Mark's, Venice.

Monteverdi brilliantly weaves older style sacred music into the new 'stilo moderno', creating an iconic masterpiece full of variety & fantastic invention.

Summertown Choral Society will again be joined by Instruments of Time & Truth, including David Miller, the renowned lutenist and six of the country's finest young soloists.

Early booking recommended.
