Miserere: Allegri, MacMillan

A concert of beautiful music for the Lenten season, featuring contrasting versions of the Miserere: Allegri’s iconic setting, originating in the 17th century, and Sir James MacMillan’s moving and powerful work, written in 2009. Both are for unaccompanied choir. Other music includes Lotti’s ‘Crucifixus à 8’, Purcell’s ‘Hear my Prayer’ and Vaughan Williams’s ‘Lord, thou hast been our refuge’. Join us for an evening of memorable and moving music in the glorious setting of Exeter College Chapel.

Duration: 1 hour 30mins with interval
