A CHOPIN SOIRÉE

A CHOPIN SOIRÉE

Jack Gibbons’ 31st annual Oxford Summer Piano Series

The acclaimed pianist and composer Jack Gibbons has been performing his highly popular annual Oxford Summer Piano Series without a break since 1988. In the second of two all-Chopin programmes Jack Gibbons recreates the rarefied and intimate atmosphere of the Parisian salons where Chopin enjoyed performing in the 1830s and 40s, with a collection of the composer’s most sublime music.

  • “Jack Gibbons is a unique phenomenon in the musical world of today. Thanks to his virtuosic skills Gibbons can hold an audience in thrall. His concert-giving style is equally attractive: before his performances he talks unassumingly but with great authority from the platform, drawing the listeners into a special relationship.”
