Yayi Tian is a third-year doctoral candidate pursuing a Doctor of Music degree in Piano. She studies under the guidance of Alex Soares and Noriko Ogawa at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. As a soloist, she has performed extensively worldwide, including in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Israel, the United States, China, and Korea.

Yayi’s artistic development has been shaped by mentorship from renowned musicians such as Arie Vardi, Murray Perahia, Imogen Cooper, Yevgeny Sudbin, and Alisa Weilerstein. She has also collaborated with several orchestras, including the Symphony of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, the Richmond Orchestra, and the Enfield Chamber Music Orchestra.

She previously studied at the Royal Academy of Music, earning a Professional Diploma, MMus with Distinction, and BMus with Upper Second Class Honours. She holds the LRAM teaching certificate and was awarded the prestigious DipRAM for the best final recital. Her talent has been recognised through scholarships such as the John Burgess Award and the Yamaha Asia Music Scholarship.

Yayi is also a prize-winning pianist, with accolades including First Prize in the 3rd Public Piano Competition of Shenzhen, Gold Medal in the 1st Rachmaninoff International Competition for Young Pianists (China Region), and First Prize in the EPTA–Belgium International Piano Competition.
