Opus 48 are delighted to present an evening of stunning works for choir and cello. The warm sound of the cello is the perfect balance to choral voices as is seen in the works we will be singing, from Ola Gjeilo’s haunting and memorable O magnum mysterium through to the mesmeric Svyati of John Tavener. We are joined by rising star cellist Maxim Calver, BBC Young Musician Strings Winner 2018 who will also be playing Bach’s First Suite for Cello. This is music to relax to, to enjoy, to open the eyes to new pastures, the perfect place to spend a Summer’s evening.
