Join Oxford Theatre Guild in the University Parks this summer as we celebrate our 70th anniversary year with a sizzling modern twist on Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare’s best loved plays.
Twins Viola and Sebastian are shipwrecked on an island and become separated. Viola disguises herself as a man, Cesario, working for Duke Orsino, with whom she falls in love. Orsino is in love with Countess Olivia, but Olivia falls for Viola in disguise as a man.
Meanwhile, Olivia’s dodgy relative, Sir Toby Belch, schemes with his friend Sir Andrew Aguecheek, who tries unsuccessfully to court Olivia. Servants Maria, Feste and Malvolio become embroiled in the fun and ‘midsummer madness’ takes hold.
With a soundtrack from the 1980s, you will be transported to Ilyria for a hot night of love, mistaken identity, and trickery.
