Hailed by the BBC as “THE Gershwin pianist of our time” at his Proms debut at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1995, Jack Gibbons has built an enviable reputation as one of the world’s greatest exponents of the music of Gershwin. Tonight, in the second part of two biographical Gershwin programmes, he plays recreations of Gershwin's original show-tune improvisations alongside concert works Cuban Overture, Porgy and Bess Suite, and Rhapsody in Blue.
