Hailed by the BBC as “THE Gershwin pianist of our time” at his Proms debut at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1995, Jack Gibbons has built an enviable reputation as one of the world’s greatest exponents of the music of Gershwin. Tonight, in the first part of two biographical Gershwin programmes he plays his meticulous recreations of Gershwin's original show-tune improvisations, alongside concert works An American in Paris and Rhapsody in Blue.
