Hailed by the BBC as “THE Gershwin pianist of our time” at his Proms debut at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1995, JACK GIBBONS has built an enviable reputation as one of the world’s greatest exponents of the music of GERSHWIN. Tonight he celebrates the centenary of the premiere of Gershwin’s immortal Rhapsody in Blue, alongside concert works An American in Paris, Concerto in F and Three Preludes, and Gibbons’ acclaimed authentic recreations of Gershwin's original show-tune improvisations, as recorded by the composer in the 1920s.

Hearing Jack Gibbons perform is like being at a Gershwin party, in a sense like being with Gershwin.
