Miniatures of musical conversation - inspiration for every hour and every mood. In Duologues, Rachel Podger pairs up with eminent baroque cellist Alex Rolton in a delightful programme of duos by Corelli and J.S.Bach inspired by a new album of the same title which will be released in Oct 2026 and also includes instrumentalists Lucie Horsch and Jane Rogers.

Playing duos was a staple of 18th-century domestic music-making and offers the players a unique chance to ‘converse’ spontaneously around all the prevailing moods, in a varied combination of violin plus.  From the reflective to the dazzling, this idiom represents a stunning distillation of exchanges where the instruments speak and listen at the same time; they offer up answers to questions that become questions themselves, and replete with conceits of flattery, generosity, curiosity, sarcasm, imitation, persuasion and provocation. Rachel and Alex invite you to be a part of these endlessly pleasurable and resourceful dialogues.
