The Oxford Piano Competition provides a competitive platform for top pianists studying piano in UK conservatoires, to perform a substantial, free-choice programme in Oxford. Our distinguished adjudicator this year is Gordon Fergus-Thompson, professor of Piano at the Royal College of Music, international masterclass recitalist, and major international recording artist (including complete works of Debussy, Ravel and Scriabin).

Gala Final Round Concert

Three finalists are chosen from the preliminary round to perform in our prestigious Gala Final Round. Each performs a 30-minute recital. After the performances and adjudication, the placing of the finalists is revealed and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards are presented. The Gala Final Round is always highly anticipated as an exciting Oxford piano event and the culmination of the Competition: we are treated to top-flight performances by three outstanding piano professionals of the future.
