A traditional candlelit service of carols and readings for the season of Christmas sung by the world-famous Choir of Magdalen College, Oxford.
The services are held in Magdalen’s ancient and beautiful chapel, and both services on 10th & 11th December are identical, featuring old and new carols and traditional Christmas readings.
These services are open to members of the College and members of the public, but, since the atmosphere will be quietly reflective, they are not suitable events for babies or small children under the age of 5.
All tickets on sale via Tickets Oxford are unreserved tickets in the Antechapel and are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once purchased and cannot be returned for credit. There is a limit of 4 tickets per booker.
A large number of the seats in the Antechapel have no direct view of the Inner Chapel where the Choir and readers will be throughout the service. This year, owing to the installation of a new Chapel organ, there will be no TV relay screens in the Antechapel. This means that all Antechapel seats will have a limited view and some will be very restricted.
No sound or video recording is allowed and no photographs may be taken. Random bag searches may take place and audiences are requested not be to bring rucksacks nor large bags of any kind in with them. Seating is on folding chairs.
A queue usually forms at the Chapel North Door (from around 5pm) for those wishing to find seats with a view of the Inner Chapel.
If you require a wheelchair space for this event, please call 01865 305 305 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for further assistance.
