This is a special portrait concert to celebrate the life and work of Dame Judith Weir, the former Master of the King’s Music and also a honorary fellow of St Hilda’s College, in performances given by the Lawson Piano Trio. Dame Judith introduces the pieces in the programme in conversation with Professor Martyn Harry. In our concert the focus is placed on her output for string instruments and piano, drawing on the exceptional works she created at various points of her career with groups such as Domus and the Schubert Ensemble.
