The acclaimed pianist and composer Jack Gibbons has been performing his highly popular annual Oxford Summer Piano Series without a break since 1988 and gave his first public performance at this historic venue in 1977. In this special programme celebrating 40 years of concerts at the Holywell Music Room Jack Gibbons plays a wide range of music chosen from four decades of Holywell concert programmes.

Jack Gibbons is a unique phenomenon in the musical world of today. Thanks to his virtuosic skills Gibbons can hold an audience in thrall. His concert-giving style is equally attractive: before his performances he talks unassumingly but with great authority from the platform, drawing the listeners into a special relationship.” Humphrey Burton CBE
