A Grade I, G.F. Bodley designed church and adjoining cloister that forms part of St Stephen's House, a Permanent Private Hall of the University.
Recently updated as a concert venue, SJE has underfloor heating and new lighting, comfortable chairs, a new toilet block, staging, and a Steinway D concert grand piano. The acoustic is superb.
SJE is on the Iffley Road opposite the University Sports Ground. Buses from Oxford city centre stop directly outside. Buses from London stop five minutes' walk away in St Clement's.

Disabled access and toilet.
Bar on site for most events.

A great variety of pieces for the clarinet and various other instruments by Prokofiev, Baermann, Glazunov, Weber and Spohr. The clarinettist has a well-earned rest during Dvorak’s wonderful String Quintet, Op. 77.
