The acclaimed pianist and composer Jack Gibbons has been performing his highly popular annual Oxford Summer Piano Series without a break since 1988. Hailed by the BBC as “THE Gershwin pianist of our time” at his Proms debut at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1995, Jack Gibbons has built an enviable reputation as one of the world’s greatest exponents of the music of Gershwin. Tonight he plays more of his famous recreations of Gershwin’s original show-tune improvisations and concert works, as featured on his award-winning 4-CD series “The Authentic George Gershwin”, including the Rhapsody in Blue and selection of much loved Gershwin melodies.

"Gibbons incarnates an uncanny representation of Gershwin's piano style that hasn't been heard since the glory days of Oscar Levant." Village Voice, New York
